Well im not joking read the review!

PAIYA(U),a Movie by Lingusamy(Run,Sandakozhi,Bheema) is action flick starred by Karthi,Tamanna.The movie is an action entertainer(but it doesn't do the latter!!),The story revolves around Shiva(Karthi) and Charulatha(Tamanna),who have their sets of problems,Charulatha is chased by her family,as she is forced to marry someone she doesn't like,Its love at first sight for Shiva(regular tamil cinema at its best!),he chases Charulatha for a long time(a real set of boring sequences!),and finally she ends up on his car with a guy who is forcing her to goto chennai,they mistake him for a taxi driver(which he rather enjoys!).Romance is really portrayed well(nothing else is though!),it is not a drastic leap,but rather a slow and steady paced one.Listening to Tamanna's idea Karthi abandons the guy who brings Tamanna,at a petrol bunk.After this sequence the movie is basically like a road-trip,Tamanna asks Karthi to take her to her Grandma's house at Mumbai,Tamanna and Karthi slowly learn about each other,later on this reaveals about karthi's history as a flashback sequence,we learn Tamanna is not the only one on the run,but karthi is too(i mean RUN!!!,not the Maddy,Meera Jasmin starrer!).Karthi has a Don who is waiting to kill him at Mumbai (I again do not mean Sandakozhi, the Vishal,Meera Jasmin starrer!).Tamanna though has a good reception by her grandma,other relatives ask her to leave,and yes as you guess! the bad guys unite and there is a really big fight sequence at the end,which i rather enjoyed!(even though Karthi was a superhero in it!).And i need not tell you the ending you can easily guess !

CAST:
Though Karthi has given out his best of expressions!,Tamanna gives out her regular performance,which in this case doesn't fill up the expectations of the viewers,Though in his last interview,Lingusamy told that Tamanna isn't just a plain GLAM DOLL in the movie,she doesn't do anything else exceptional other than that! Jagan steals the show during the second half,I guess its a good comeback for him after Ayan!

MUSIC:
Except for his over enthusiastic fans,Yuvan doesn't do much good to this movie,the background scores aren't that good ,and why does the theme music of the movie DESPARADO comes during the fight sequences here(well i dunno,maybe this is not the first time this is happening!)Songs are the same old tunes that many music directors are making for many years,though there was a lot of hype for the song 'Suthudhey Suthudhey Boomi' the visualisation isn't that good,the whole of the song is shot under a studio and the colour correction and CG work shows that very clearly!!

Cinematogaphy:
Of all the bad points in the movie there is a gem hiding beyond all the mist,and its none other than Cinematography!,the cinematograhy really makes you move with the movie,and makes it look really uber! Hats Off to MADHI!!!!,proves to be a great choice!!

Verdict:
The movie is a combination of Sandakozhi and Run and makes you hate both if you had watched them,i wouldn't recommend shelling the big bucks as i did,but you can catch it when it comes out as a DVD or watch it on TV(which i guess would be pretty soon!),and as i said must watch if you are a fan of marvel comics(lots of LOLs!)
