Angadi Theru is an eye opener to all those who are on the rosier side of life. Jayamohan’s razor-sharp dialogues lend the right kind of support to the
narration. The dialogues spoken by the road side beggar who marries a dwarf and delivers a dwarf baby is one such instance. Vasantha Balan is
successful when our heart jumps with joy with the bashing the Hitler like supervisor Karungali receives from the hero. Director Venkatesh who has

The opening frame is on a common man where the cell phone rings and the M.G.R dailogue are uttered as 'en thaai mela aana, naan endha phonea edukkavematten' and the audience start laughing.

Anitha and Mahesh has really lived their roles rather than just acting.

'Kadhaigal pesigira vizhi arugil' - a melodious track with beautiful lyrics like 'unakkul thodangi unakkul dhana mudigaradhe'...

The Slum areas and their lives who dwell on platforms, are screened well. Cool comedy dailogues like 'Berry palam kelvi pattirukke, adhenna strawberry' and friends calling our village hero as 'lingu' whos name is 'jyothilingam' is too good.

Aval Appadi Ondrum alagillaye, avalukku yaarum inayillai -
a heart touching lyrics and quite different lyrics, when compared to those songs in the movies, where the heroines are always praised as 'Miss Universe' This song is screend on our village hero who admires the beauty of his girl, who looks gorgeous to his eyes. A sensible lyrics where it clearly says that even though the girl he loves is not 'Miss Universe' he feels great about her. A melodious track that is sure to prompt you to listen again and again.

'Un Perai Sollum Bodhe Ul Nenjil Kondattam' a heart touching lyrics which speaks about the true love.

Even though 'Angadi Theru' is Mahesh`s first movie, he has really performed well. His innocent looks and his commitment to support his family and his love towards his girl are expressed well. The credit goes to the Director Vasantha Balan, who has put in lots of efforts for making each character to perform. Vasantha Balan has introduced hundred new faces and has made each character to leave an impression on the viewers.

Anjali & Mahesh`s first romantic scene is framed on their legs, where they play in the bus stand stabbing on each other legs. This scene has connecting frames in the story where Anjali loses both her legs in a road accident. Director Venkatesh in the role of cruel mall manager has excelled in his performance.

'Angadi Theru' throws light on the lives of platform people with realistic incidents tagged to it.

'Angadi Theru' makes the audience to associate the characters of the movie with the characters that they would come across in the real life, working in multistored buildings as sales boys and sales girls, who work for more than 14-16 hours a day. They slog all the day long, throughout their lives but the struggle continues... Each character resembles the face of someone that we have met in life on streets.

A polio attacked person gives life to a prostitute by marring her and wishes that his son should not
be born like him, but he ends up being intears when he comes to know that his son is also polio attacked, but the positive response of the lady, a proud mother indeed, who says that she feels proud of his son, just becasue, that he looks like her husband and the society will not suspect her character. Hats off to all those men in the theatre who gave a big appalause.
An old blind man running a small time business in the busy street, who utters 'Vikka therinjavan dha vaala therinjava' really boosts up the energy levels.
A c
ompletely honest guy who doesn`t like to beg or borrow, ends up in cleaning the public toilets and starts collecting money from the people who uses it. A young girl in the role of Anjali`s sister, who has been sent to Assam as a maid and the emotional stress of Anajali who doesn`t wish to leave her little sister, are the heart touching moments in the movie.

Mini flashbacks of Mahesh and Kani and the love proposals of sales boys and sales girls filled with hu
mour are enjoyable. The true love of a sales girl, who jumps from the multi-stored building, when her lover suspects her focuses on the deep love of the girl towards the boy, she was attached with. His realization for the dead one, who has been stone hearted to accept her love in public, just for the sake of the job and the dailogues that he utters in depression 'Urigi Urigi kadhallicha avala ....eppadi ketutene...

The m
ovie was watched in pin drop silence where the director has made the audience to feel the pulse of each character. The cruel attitude of the Mall Manager and the way he treats the employees as slaves, is sure to make you run to save those souls.

Sneha in special appearance as a brand ambassador of the shop and the polished way of 'Annachi' asking her to expose and wear bright color sarees shows the other side of the commerial aspect. 'Ann
achi' character & karungali supervisor character dons in their roles.

'Angadi Theru' is a bold attempt by Vasanth Balan focusing on the darker side of the sales people, filled with a touching love story, humour and real incidents, are sure to be an eye-opener for many.

Hats off to the entire team of 'Angadi Theru', this has been a movie that I have felt to watch again, after many years.

Fin
ally, I would like to say that inspite of the sad ending in the movie, it leaves a positive note, that one should learn to make life out of the struggles that surrounds us.

'Angadi Theru' a struggle that continues in life to succeed.
