Harisree Ashokan, is a very famous Malayalam comedian. Unlike other comedians Harisree Ashokan mostly acts as the Hero’s sidekick. He came to the Malayalam industry by the movie Cheluvil Aalanguyil and later Siddiqe lal’s Ramji Ravo speeking. Before coming to the industry, he was working as Lineman in Telecomm Department in Cochin. While working there,he did so many shows in the troupe “Harisree”. This impressed by Sidiqe lal. Since then Asokan found roles in such films as Godfather, Therasil Malayam, In Harihar Nagar, – directed by Siddique-Lal.
In 2007, he started doing serious roles by the movie Aaksasham and showed that he can do serious roles too. Harisree asokan’s latest movie is NR Sajeev’s Janakan. Scripted by SN Swamy, the movie Janakan is a thriller. The movie Janakan is casted by Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Biju menon, Kaveri Jyothirmayi etc. Harisree Ashokan is doing the role of Pazhani who is a friend of Suresh gopi who is charged the murder of his own daughter in the movie Janakan

In 1997, he won the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actor for his role as Akhilachandran in Krishnagudiyil Oru Pranayakalathu. In 1999 and 2000 he won the asianet award for the best supporting actor for the movies pattalam, kannezhuthi pottum tottu etc and for his role in mekhamalhar he and samyukta varma won the best pair in 2001
